Flexible Workforce Development Fund – Now also available to SMEs!

Do you want to upskill staff, offer development and training opportunities to move on your business? You may be eligible to apply for funding to help you access this training.

The Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF) is a Scottish Government initiative that enables employers to address priority skills and skills gaps in their organisation by accessing funding to create training programmes that meet their needs.These programmes can be delivered in partnership with their local college, The Open University in Scotland or an independent training provider.

Dumfries & Galloway College have been working with employers to support funding applications in order to access eligible training options:

a. If you are an Apprenticeship Levy Payer

FWDF is available for employers that pay the Apprenticeship Levy and it may give you access to a fund of up to £15,000 towards your employees’ training and development through Dumfries & Galloway College (or another Scottish Regional College).

b. If you are an SME Employer

FWDF is available for employers that a classes as SMEs and it may give you access to a fund of up to £5,000 towards your employees’ training and development through Dumfries & Galloway College (or another Scottish Regional College).
