Involving young people on social enterprise boards

We’ve just published a new case study featuring Brandon Clements, the 20 year-old director on the board of the Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust.

Brandon wanted to act as a voice for Gigha’s youth, and was elected as a director of the board in 2019. Brandon has since overseen a number of projects and research to encourage young people to remain on, and return to live on Gigha.

He describes the challenges and opportunities of being a young person on a predominantly older board, and emphasises the importance of having different viewpoints on the board, especially those from the younger population.
