The Coronavirus pandemic has generated significant challenges in terms of mental health and wellbeing. Social isolation has been particularly challening in remote and rural locations, where people are already isolated by geography, and have suffered from the restrictions on every social interaction.

Over the last 6 months, community and social enterprises have been at the forefront of local response, and have worked tirelessly to support their communities and vulnerable groups. Many rural social enterprises are being faced with increasing demand, coupled with reducing staffing of paid employees and volunteers, having a significant impact in terms of stress and burnout.
Following on from the ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing for Rural Social Enterprise’ session run during SENScot’s #RestartRebuild week (click here for session notes), we have worked with SAMH and Bridge a Gap to compile mental health and wellbeing resources useful for rural social enterprises.
