“Never Lost in Translation”: FCA Association Eliminating Social Isolation in rural Scotland

The Foreign Communities of Alba Association (FCA Association) is a charity in Scotland’s West Lothian, Falkirk, and North Lanarkshire councils. Founded in 2023, it aims to combat social isolation through sports and recreation.

The FCA Association regularly offers a variety of activities, including football training sessions, hiking events, mental health workshops, and social gatherings, all aimed at fostering community and well-being. Additionally, they are deeply involved in charitable efforts, having raised over £27,000 for medical equipment through a partnership with the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. They also successfully hosted a winter safety course, providing participants with essential skills for navigating Scotland’s challenging winter conditions.

Despite challenges, they continue to support the community with a lot of fun sports, recreational activities, social gatherings, and charity.
