Organisational Anti-Racism Roadmap for Community Development and Youth Work

Organisational Anti-Racism Roadmap for Community Development and Youth Work

Who is this for?

The Organisational Anti-Racism Roadmap is designed for community workers, community organisations, NGOs and HR professionals. It provides a practical guide to tackling systemic racism and embedding inclusive practices into everyday operations, policies and procedures.

The Roadmap calls on organisations to make a genuine commitment to anti-racism — ensuring staff have the knowledge and tools to respond effectively, and that structures are in place to support both racialised individuals and the professionals working alongside them.

How was it developed?

The Roadmap was developed in collaboration between Empower and TU Dublin, drawing on research into the experiences of racialised individuals in Irish workplaces and community settings.
The research found that many people from minority backgrounds continue to face racism, exclusion and a lack of adequate support. It also highlighted the emotional impact on community workers who support those affected by racism.
