#RuralPact Conference – ENRD Session, 15th June 2022

On the 15th of June 2022, the European Network for Rural Development (ENRD) ran a session at the #RuralPact Conference which put focus on rural revitalisation. During the session, ENRD disseminated the results of their thematic group on rural revitalisation. ENRD Contact Point Team Leader, David Lamb outlined the most important outcomes of the thematic group which were; the power of connection, multi-level governance, integrated strategies and local and territorial elements. The next step is to bring them all together and look at what could be done to make rural communities more vibrant.

Enrique Nieto, another member of the ENRD contact point team said, “To develop rural areas we need joined-up action. We identify the pieces of the policy puzzle that need to be put in place in order to radicalise rural areas. You need to start from a holistic approach by having an integrated strategy, multi-level governance, capacitating actors at local level to take action, innovative responses and the need to boost cooperation among actors and territories.”
