The RuralSEHub was able to contribute to a peer research carried out by Migration Policy Scotland, which was commissioned by Scottish Government to assist in brininging migrant perspectives to the evidence gathering and external engagement informing the development of the Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan 2026-2031.

The report summarises the key findings gathered by 12 migration experienced peer researchers who conducted structured questionnaire based interviews with 48 migrant parents living in a mix of cities, towns, villages, and rural areas across Scotland. The findings of the study highlights the inequalities linked to experiences of migration and deriving from the immigration system impact significantly on poverty in migrant families and are worthy of further consisderation in developing the Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan 2026-2023.
